Rationalised

Half Set

Beginners Set with One Drone

Beginners Set

Full Set: Rationalised

Introducing a new design halfway between a half set and full set.

Jim won the "All Britain" piping competition (2001) on this arrangement.  After the event the adjudicator said;

"You get a great sound out of a basic looking set of pipes".

This unique design has the following benefits:

Flowing Legato sound (impossible to acheive with traditional regulators which produce a staccato note).

Easy to tune with only three reeds to adjust.

Light and Comfortable to play with fewer parts in the set.

The set has the usual bag, bellows and chanter with the following drones:

Bass D, drone which does not change note.

The middle pipe plays A, with a key which when pressed plays G.

The treble pipe plays D with a key which when pressed plays F-sharp.

The keys are arranged so that when they are pressed together YOU CAN GET A D CHORD AND A G CHORD.
